Tour Overview

From the ancient past, South India is noted as a “world-class temple destination” for a huge collection of temples. It’s profusely built; stones or wooden figures carved and aesthetically designed temples are unique or marvelous in their architectural brilliance and known for rich sources of religious teachings, cultural antics or some divine powers. People from all over the world visit these glorious temples and perform poojas or rituals.

Tour itinerary

Day 01: Chennai:

You will be received at Chennai airport, assisted and transferred straight to your hotel. Remaining time is at leisure till next morning.

Day 02: Chennai:

Enjoy a half-day sight seeing tour of Chennai during the day. Evening fee to stroll in the famous T. Nagar Market.

Day 03: Chennai - Tirupati:

Morning depart for Tirupati. During the day, visit the temple and attend the Darshan of Lord Balaji.

Day 04: Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram:

Morning drive to reach Mahabalipuram which is famous for its rock carvings and the beautiful Shore Temple. En-route visit Kanchipuram which is home to the famous silk and cotton weaving industry. Later you will be transferred to your beach resort. Remaining time is at leisure till next morning.

Day 05: Mahabalipuram:

During the day enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram covering all the major attractions. Overnight in your beach resort.

Day 06: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry:

Morning drive to reach the former French colony Pondicherry (recently renamed as Puducherry). Palm-fringed beaches, backwaters, fishing villages, luxury beach resorts, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, a coastline of 32 kms, great sea-food, quality wine and colonial feel are just few reasons to visit Pondicherry. Stay overnight in your hotel.

Day 07: Puducherry:

Morningvisit the famous Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Later visit the Pondicherry Museum and Auroville- a unique township dedicated to human unity

Day 08: Swamimalai:

Morning drive to Swamimalai, visiting the beautiful Natraja Temple on the way. Later you will be transferred to your heritage hotel in Swamimalai. Remaining time is at leisure till next morning.

Day 09: Swamimalai:

Morning visit the impressive temple of Gangaikondacholapuram, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Afterwards proceed to visit the famous temples of Kumbakonam, Thingaloorand Swamimalai. Stay overnight in Swamimalai.

Day 10: Trichy:

Morning drive to Tanjore which has a magnificent history dating back more than 1500 years. Visit the Brihadeeswara Temple (a World Heritage site) before continuing to Trichy. On arrival, check in at your hotel. Remaining time is at leisure.

Day 11: Trichy:

During the day visit the Rock Fort & its impressive temples.

Day 12: Madurai:

Morning drive to reach Madurai. Evening visit Meenakshi Temple to witness the special night ceremony. The ceremony takes place every evening at 9 p.m., when the temple bronze of Lord Shiva is carried to the bedchamber of Parvati. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 14: Madurai:

Morning visit the Master piece Meenakshi temple – a great example of Dravidian architecture and sculpture. Later proceed to visit Tirumalai Nayaka Temple and Temple Art Museum. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 15: Kanyakumari:

Morning drive to reach Kanyakumari. On arrival, check in at your hotel. Remaining time is at leisure till next morning.

Day 16: Kanyakumari:

Day will be spent in covering the attractions of Kanyakumari viz. Vivekananda Memorial Rock Temple, Gandhi Memorial and Kannyakumari Devi Temple. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 17: Departure:

At appropriate time transfer to Trivandrum airport for the onward journey. Tour ends.
